About Chilton & House Inc.

The rich history of Chilton & House Inc. in Salinas, California, has its roots in 1967 when Bob House moved his practice to Salinas from Reno, Nevada. Over the past 50-plus years, the firm has seen many changes, none more fulfilling than the admission of the next generation of family lawyers, especially Bob's son and business partner Gregory Chilton. Bob House retired from the practice of law in 2020.

History And Experience At Its Best

With a rich history and combined with almost 70 years of experience, Chilton & House Inc was formed on September 1, 2011. The firm has been meeting the legal needs of its clients in the areas of estate planning, trusts and probate law, real estate, corporate law, and business entities and transactions for many years.


The two men have been very involved in the community, especially in the leadership roles of many local professional and non-profit organizations. Most recently, Greg was elected chairperson of the board directors of Legal Services for Seniors and was appointed to the board of directors of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Bob is a past chairperson of both the Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation. Both men have been recognized by their peers and numerous community groups for their contributions for the betterment of the region.

The firm has a diversity of experience, and many clients are referred to the law firm by other attorneys because of the firm's solid reputation in the legal community.
